Let’s make some! Here’s what you’ll need…

Supplies:

  • Clipboard (found ours at Walmart)
  • Coordinating Scrapbook paper (*Note: my paper is thick like cardstock and is double sided)
  • Glue (I prefer “yes” glue or modgepodge but you could also get away with a glue stick!)
  • Matching Ribbon
  • Hot glue gun
  • Pen or pencil
  • Sandpaper
  • Paper cutter/Scissors
  • Stickers (optional)

Tutorial:

First you are going to trace your clipboard outline on your paper (my paper is face down in the picture below). Also you will be cutting the paper a couple inches from the top so mark that as well.

Next, use your paper cutter to cut along the straight edges of your traced lines.

Then cut the corners if your clipboard has rounded edges like mine.

Now using your ‘Yes’ glue, modgepodge or even a glue stick, attach your paper to the clipboard. (if you use a glue stick it may not last as long, FYI)

Next get your coordinating paper, place it face down below the clip of your board and mark at the ends and the edges of the clipboard. Measure how far the clip goes down and mark your paper that far down from the lines you just drew.

Then use your cutter to cut out that section of paper and the sides to line up with the clipboard.

Here is what it will look like…

Cut the corners too.

Now glue that piece down.

Next you are going to want to use sandpaper to get rid of any paper hanging over the edges. This will help the edges appear much smoother. Just use your sandpaper in a downward motion along the paper edges, some paper may come off that was hanging over the edge.

It will look nice and smooth…

Finally add some ribbon to cover the paper seams. I just used yes glue again and then used a hot glue gun to attach the 2 ends around the back side.

Attach a card and give as a gift during Teacher Appreciation week or at the end of the school year to thank your child’s teacher for all they do! I got this cute printable HERE.

Such a fun idea! Love that you used coordinating papers and added the teacher’s name. I would have loved to get something like this when I was a teacher – I used clipboards all the time! Thanks so much for sharing at the Creative Inspiration party, hope to see you again Monday night!
